What exactly is a group purchasing organization?

A GPO pools the purchasing volume of many healthcare facilities and negotiates with suppliers as one large buyer. Members keep their independence but buy at the prices of a hospital chain. Afyacon handles consolidation, logistics, quality checks and payments.

How does the weekly local delivery cycle work?

Order any day of the week. Every Friday at noon the week's orders freeze into a dispatch batch. Suppliers prepare QR-labelled parcels, Afyacon consolidates them, and deliveries reach facilities over the weekend. Orders placed after Friday noon roll to the next cycle.

Do suppliers see my facility's details?

No. Suppliers fulfil orders against your anonymous facility account number only — names and phone numbers are masked. Only Afyacon's operations team can match parcels to facilities, using QR-coded stickers at the consolidation hub.

How are engineers and medical personnel vetted?

Every professional uploads licenses, certificates and IDs at application. Our admins review each document before approval, and any later profile change goes through re-approval. Facilities see verified profiles with real credentials.

What payment methods are supported?

M-Pesa Paybill (your facility account number is the reference), or bank deposit with slip upload. Payments are verified by our finance team and reflected on your dashboard within hours.

How do imports work?

Afyacon consolidates member orders into shared containers from China, the USA and Germany on a published schedule. You order imported items from the catalogue like any other product and pay in KES.

Is there a joining fee?

Facilities join free. Suppliers are onboarded after a document review at no charge. Professional members (biomedical engineers and medical personnel) pay a one-time vetting fee that covers credential verification.

What happens if my order arrives incomplete?

Every parcel is QR-tracked and scanned at the hub, so discrepancies are caught early. Raise it from your order page and our operations team reconciles it against the supplier's dispatch.

Which counties do you serve?

Afyacon operates across Kenya. Local delivery coverage expands with network density — the more facilities in your area, the faster and cheaper the logistics.
